On the way to Malton, stopped to admire this view on the very edge of the Howardian Hills.

Malton has reinvented itself as Food Capital of Yorkshire specialising in local produce meat, game, cheese,etc. Much of the land and commercial property round Malton is owned by the Fitzwilliam family who are keen to promote the town as a centre of excellence.

We, in true cavalier fashion chose the wrong Saturday for the food market, but nevertheless noticed that various new shops had opened and the place had definitely had a make-over!
