Happy St David's Day!

St David's day, March 1st, is a national day of celebration in Wales.

The daffodil is the national flower of Wales, worn on St David's day.

Beautiful day today - lots of sunshine and quite warm, though the day started off with a frost which has been quite rare this winter. Dolly and I went walking along the Thames, and this picture was taken at the same church were I took the snowdrop pictures last Saturday. The Thames is still very high but the level is falling. We still couldn't walk very far along the towpath as the puddles were too high and too deep. We bumped into a good friend and enjoyed a long chat sitting on a bench in the sun, overlooking the lock.

It felt like the first day of spring today. I hope it lasts!
