Getting ready for courting

Cooriedog walk in the sunshine this morning. Conditions underfoot back to squelching.

Went on a search for chaffinch chums who are proving photographically elusive. It could be the males of the species are going through transition - making ready to turn on the charm; and the females are playing hard to get. I caught this one at the other side of a tree and I like the way it was framed with the branches.
