Snapped off

It looked like this had been snapped off the body of the bird it was attached to. Not pleasant, but reasonably photogenic.

Another thing that snapped today was the key to my bike lock as I was trying to unlock it to cycle home. There's a Dr Bike on campus which opens at 8.30 in the morning so the plan is that I'll be up there as soon as they open in the hope that they will be able to sort me out.

I have no idea what the University policy is on leaving bikes locked onto the cycle racks overnight. There are loads of notices up around campus about 'responsible bike parking' but I've not read them in any detail. Maybe I should have.
