The second half of life..

Click. Click.

That was the sound of the 'summer' switch being flicked off and the 'winter' switch being flicked on.

Someone flicked it yesterday when we had much cooler weather.

To wake today to snow on the hills however, was almost a step too far! It's only just March for goodness sake! Last week there were dozens of people on the beach sunbathing, swimming, sheltering from the sun and worrying about whether they had enough sun block on. This morning I dressed in 3 layers of clothing, 2 of which were merino. And a scarf.

And tonight I've switched the heaters on.

I know the cold, icy blast from the Antarctic will disappear soon and the warmer weather will return, but it's been a bit of a shock to the system.

Hope all you Cantabrians, Otago folk and Southlanders are surviving what looks like an awful blast of shocking weather down there.

Off to bed now - the electric blnket should have done it's thing by now!
