The second half of life..

Sunset Games

After arriving home from work late - again :( - I headed down the beach to blow a few cobwebs out and hunt a shot or two.

These two young fellas were well into a kind of rugby training game and with the sunset backdrop it looked pretty special.

As is often the case when you've been a teacher in a small town for a long time, it turned out that one of them was an ex student so we had a very brief catch up too :) It's always lovely to see how former students are getting along and what they're doing with their lives. It's sometimes surprising to find that even the 'ruffians' turn out to be really nice guys behind all those raging teenage hormones! This chap was most certainly never a 'ruffian' though - whilst he was at school just as he was today, a lovely, polite, aware, caring and modest young man with great ability which he clearly hadn't lost!

On a completely different note, love and thoughts go out to all those Cantabrians who have once again been dealt a cruel blow from Mother Nature. Floods - one-in-a-hundred-year floods.........not what you need on top of all the trauma from the last 3 years. Stay strong.
