Moorhen bathing

Sorry for the poor quality! It was very shy, and at the other side of the river. And against the low sun. Excuses, excuses!

Anyhow, it's a moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) with a couple of mallards (Anas platyrhynchos).

Did you know why there are always 3 mallards? Apparently, the female and one of the males are a pair, the other male hangs about, hoping to get a chance of a mating if the paired male gets distracted.
