Flooded Pathway

When we were out walking the dogs this morning, I was fascinated by the wind ripples on this flooded pathway on the salt marsh at Belhaven Beach. Normally this area is bone dry so the flooding is evidence of last night’s high tide, which totally covered the salt marsh. The bright sunlight was highlighting the ripples and you probably need to go in LARGE to appreciate the patterns of the ripples. I tried photographing them close-up from above but the images looked rather unnatural.
