Giving a Voice to 'Your Voice'

Effervescent Absent Voices artist, Anne Mckay, is a busy woman.
On Monday, she was at Whinhill PS in Greenock with fellow AV'er Yvonne Lyon, working with P 5 &6 to bring their heritage to life through music and pictures.
Today, she was at Your Voice, a community group in Inverclyde.
Annie reported back that a fantastic and enthusiastic crowd arrived to get their sleeves rolled up and get stuck into some serious drawing.
The sugar industry-related subject the group are looking at is The Water of Life, taking note of the natural rain water falling into local beauty spots, Loch Thom, on to the Cut, making its way from the Seven Burns down to the Sugar Sheds. Then into The Clyde.
The group also discussed the work of artist, Stanley Spencer, who worked in Port Glasgow during the early years of the Second World War.
They also tried out quick pencil sketches of structures and buildings.
That's when they got their hands on charcoal! What is not to like about charcoal?
