Transitional Landscape.

Naomi is studying a post graduate course at the Prince's School of Drawing. I was very impressed by her work in progress. It was in charcoal and chalk and was a very good representation of the changing scene across the canal. Canal boats moving in. Factories being replaced with flats. Pubs closing. The marshes flooding. She was also getting the herringbone cloud sky.

We discussed the landscape in this area on the east London fringes. We agreed that it is endlessly interesting and different to the rest of the city. It is a landscape in transition and is an area where the city gives way to the countryside, without being dominated by either.
