Cadzow Oaks, Chatelherault Country Park

Wednesday, and it's my usual day out with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers.
Today's walk saw us down in Hamilton with a walk based around the trails in Chatelherault Country Park. Our 'lunch stop' took place at the Cadzow Oaks, said to have been planted in the reign of King David I in the mid-12th century.

One of the benefits, if that's the right word, of visiting them at this time of year is being able to see the branch structure of the trees in all their gnarled and twisted glory. A different glory is experienced in seeing them clothed in their summer green. Must put that in the diary!
