Light on the Signal Station

The signal station at the top of Cave Rock was used to signal vessels approaching the Sumner bar, the entrance into the Estuary, in the 19th century.

There was a different light shining from the Signal Station this morning. What a beautiful morning it was too and much appreciated after the dreadful weather we've had.

The fence around the Signal Station was erected after the 2011 earthquakes, as a safety measure. I'm not convinced it's needed - but it does look nice with the light shining through it!
