Lesser Antillian Bullfinch on St Lucia

The Lesser Antillean Bullfinch (Loxigilla noctis) is a species of bird in the Thraupidae family. ( the male is shown above) It is found in Saint Barth, Saint Martin, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the British Virgin Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and heavily degraded former forest.
Here on St Lucia it is quite clever...hanging near the outdoor eating areas waiting for a chance to raid the sugar bowl. it also sneaks in and out if your room if doors or windows are left open...and goes directly for the sugar packets by the coffee machine.
