Rio Rain

Lovely lunch at Le Vin, a modern French restaurant with a Brazilian twist, in Ipanema. We were last there six years ago, when we found it a bit chaotic and not like its sister restaurant in São Paulo, which we love. Only when we paid up did we realize it was their first day! Today it was right up to scratch. Bb had a dozen oysters and I had marinated salmon to start. We both then had steak tartare and chips and it was delicious!

A rain shower 'forced' us into the Travessa shop, also in Ipanema - two floors of books, CDs, DVDs and a great little cafe restaurant. Restricted ourselves to a coffee book on Rio to leave in our studio here and the latest Caetano Velosa CD. What I didn't find was the 1959 film Orfeo Negro, set in Rio. Here's a little clip from it:

Orfeo Negro

I'm now on a mission to find that DVD!

My blip photo's not great, but will remind us of the day. It's looking into the cafe in the bookshop.
