Crocus awakening

Although the daffs & tulips have been pushing up their leaves for some time, only today did I find the first sign of a crocus leaf. In the village they are in full bloom but in our garden they always come later but not normally so long after the daffs and especially the tulips. They must not quite have so much trust in Mother Nature.

Spent the day, sawing & loading the trees felled yesterday, getting the large farm tipper/trailer in to action after two years of sitting outside with no use. The wooden floor has been in bad shape and will no doubt be even worse as there were quite a lot of old branches and leaves on it for all that time. But for a bit of air in one of the four tyres, the trailer seemed to be useable.

Worked right through until dusk. Would have liked to go with Angie to the Observatory in Ottobeuren which is open to the public on the 1st Friday of the month. For some reason we had never been. She enjoyed it, keeping the people occupied with a barrage of questions about all the wonderful stars & lights we have been seeing the last few weeks with the clear weather we have had. Tonight the moon was very bright making it less than optimal for star gazing.

Like Jerry, I fell asleep early on the sofa, the photo supplied by Angie when she got home.
