Yikes

It's been another gorgeous warm day today - about the third or fourth in a row.

It's also been another helluva windy day - about the third in a row.

The combination of heat and wind helped to fan a scrub fire south of here this afternoon - apparently 50 hectares of pine plantation and scrub have been destroyed.

The wind has kept the smoke away from us here but the smoke cloud extends from virtually the southern horizon to the northern horizon. I hope teh wind doesn't change!

If you look carefully you can just make out the Western ranges amongst the smoke.
