MV Glenachulish

The now rare turntable Scottish ferry boat MV Glenachulish operates a summer service between Glenelg and Kylerhea, on the Isle of Skye. Built in 1969, she is the last manually operated turntable ferry in Scotland. A well travelled boat, she has seen service at Ballachulish, Corran, Kessock, Kylesku, Glenelg, and Strome ferries so she'll be ideal for an imaginary Port Appin - Lismore crossing.

So far I've scratch built the main deck turntable and superstructure. Never realised it would be this difficult to get all those railings looking parallel - still a work in progress here! The cabin should be easy to construct, the lifting ramps might be tricky and don't even think about asking how I'll build the hull. I was going to ask you!

I think it'll be painted as the colours in the image behind though the original Balachulish Ferry colours of green hull, red deck and white gates is very tempting.
