Transport homework

Every P1 kid gets the 'make a model from recycling' homework at some time during the year. I is currently studying transport, so they had to make something related to that. She wanted to make a train, so using cardboard, plastic, paper, paint, and some serious glue, that's what we did.

She chose a picture of a train to make a model of, picked out boxes and lids, wanted a carriage with people in it, decided the colours, and then we set to work. Only some cotton wool steam, and some fairy sparkle decorations to add, then it's ready for its maiden journey to school.

Luckily she has just enough of my 'design ocd' that I didn't even have to match up wheel sizes on each side, or change the shape to make sure it was more train-like, or suggest a new colour scheme :)

Homework like this is fun!, although I was definetly aware that my main 'dad task' was to make sure the glueing was good enough to last a weekend, and a trip to school on Monday. The last thing we want is a broken train at 8.59am on Monday morning!
