Monarch Caterpiller

Busy day. Family staying, while the rest of the family went off visiting 15 year old stayed behind and helped me. Lawns all mowed, hedges cut, spoutings cleaned and many shrubs cut back.
What a joy he is after that we went on a blipping mission to my friends garden where there are just masses of monarchs. This turned into a save the monarch mission. This massive swan plant they had just massacred so the task was shift a multitude of caterpillars on to some neighbouring plants that still had an abundance of leaves .
There were many chrysalis that the grubs had crawled over to a wood and wire fence to attach themselves before going into the cocoon. One was attached to the wire and dozens to the wood. I have never known such a prolific year for them.
One butterfly had just came out in all its beauty and was drying and flexing and dripping moisture it was so good to watch.
However have put in this one of the busy caterpillar as it has headed off the host plant onto this nice green one just ready to go into the chrysalis . You folk on the other side of the world will be getting sick of Monarch photos but they are such a joy to watch by adults and children alike.
