Scarborough Day

4years 146days

Another fabulous but busy day. Katie woke about 6 and we listened to the first F1 race of the season together while we played, bathed and ate. About 830 Granny and Grandad got up too and we had a bit of time together. I popped out for a job this morning. Katie helped Granny and Grandad prepare a cooked brunch and cleared her plate of bacon, sausage, eggs, beans and waffle. I came home after they'd had a game of pairs and read a book. It was then time to get ready for lunchtime's party.

My wee niece turned 3 this week and we went to see her and my nephew at her playcentre party. Katie pretended to be a bit shy - it's been a while since she saw these cousins - but soon was off happily playing with them. She loved the toddler area with the bubble tubes, tunnels and race car soft play. She liked the islands in the bigger playframe for playing stepping stones and liked it when she'd found the way round to an interesting looking climbing bit.

She sat for party lunch, although didnt have a great deal of appetite after the huge amount she ate this morning. She found her appetite come cake time though! Her and Maria-Sofia sat together working hard on Colin the Caterpillar cake. After the party, we headed back to Scarborough.

She said on the way back from the party that she wanted to go to the beach. She had said so last night after she had put her pyjamas on. So we got ready straight away and set out. We had a nice walk down to the sand and she had a wonderful time building a few sandcastles and running in and out of the waters edge, throwing a few pebbles for good measure. It was the first time it was warm enough to just wear a sundress while playing on the beach!

We got our train home and a taxi back from the station. I thought she would soon be asleep but she's watching Toy Story, looking quite zoned but happy.

In other news, I got a phonecall today that it was our bike I saw on Thursday but it has now been sold on and I probably wont get it back as they dont know where to. However they know who took it and said they have sufficient evidence to bring him in to custody and charge him, so I have to go make a statement later this week then probably go to court in due course.
