Miss L and Me

What a fantastic day we've had!
Mr K took Miss E to school so I had a bit of a lie in.
Then Mr K took Miss L out for a bike ride so I had a nice long bath.
I'm quite enjoying Mr K's current work schedule of a three day week!
Miss L did brilliantly on her bike ride. It was her first outing on Miss E's old bike (she's getting a new one for her birthday next week) and she was so good. Mr K took a fabulous video of her zooming along singing her head off!
When they got back we headed straight off to Stowe. Our third attempt in the last month.
Miss L fell asleep almost as soon as we got in the car and then it started raining. I thought visit number three was going to be unsuccessful too! I said there was no point in going just to carry a groggy Miss L to the café and then go home again.
At the entrance I changed my mind and said that we may as well go in for a cup of tea!
We sat in the car park for about ten minutes chatting and watching the rain.
Then the rain stopped, the sun came out and Miss L woke up. Perfect!
We had a yummy lunch then went down to the gardens. We got the golf buggy because it's a long way for Miss L's little legs to walk before the walk even starts. Did I mention that they've moved the entrance at Stowe so it's miles from the car? And got rid of the land train? Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!
We had such a fantastic walk all around the lake for the first time in a year or so. Miss L walked and ran the whole way and had a great time collecting bulrushes, leaves, stones, feathers, fir cones and sticks.
We were so lucky with the weather - as soon as we got out of the car the rain disappeared, the sky turned a glorious blue and the sun came out. It was so beautiful.
From there it was a quick dash to school to get Miss E, dropping Mr K at home and heading over to Mrs C's for dinner. After a fairly antisocial start - Miss E sat indoors by herself glued to Peter Pan while everyone else played outside on the trampoline - all the children had a lovely time. They were all still outside when it was dark and had to be dragged back in. The Little Misses love Mr L and Mr R - it's so lovely seeing them play together.
I dropped them off at home and headed off to Fat Club. After the festivities last week I was expecting the worst and so was pleasantly surprised to discover that I've only put on a pound and a half.
Back on track now!!
