Trees in Figsbury Ring

Stonehenge was my destination today, and a first experience of the new visitors'centre 1 1/2miles from the monument. It is definitely an improvement from the original facilities adjacent to the site, which are now being demolished. The new centre has an exhibition including a history of the area and a display of finds, and you take a shuttle bus to the stones - though I walked back via the

I travelled home via Salisbury and stopped of at another ancient site: Figsbury Ring - an Iron Age Ring fort surrounding a smaller Neolithic enclosure, and enjoyed a lovely sunset from the ramparts.

I had a good choice of photos from today, but have chosen these trees growing in the ring catching the late afternoon sun.
