Double Double Don Dipper Day

One River, two pairs of Dippers.
Not the best photo - they were quite a way off and I didn't have my big lens, but we were thrilled on our walk today to see two pairs of Dippers, apparently collecting nest material. Plenty of Wrens around and lots of Grey Wagtails, as well as a Heron showing well. We met some people who had seen a Kingfisher down there too, but we didn't manage to see that today. I also found a Scarlet Elf Cup. Strange to think that I've never seen this colourful fungus before, but this year, I've seen lots it. I think it must be a good year. It's not the kind of thing you can easily miss!
