More history of the hamlet

Typical three storey weavers' cottages in Little Horton Green.

Although Bradford is associated with the wool trade, these were used initially to weave not wool, but cotton in the 18th century. The blocked up doors were where the cotton was hauled up in to the building.

These days the cottages tend to be rented out to students at the nearby college and university. Fascinating little area of the city.
