The old and the new

A garland of bright new daffodils encircles the trunk of the gnarled old oak. The muse has struck and lyrical prose hath flowed forth. But it was a very short muse, the prose has dried to a trickle and normal service has been restored.

A brisk walk around Mote Park and a visit to the supermarket this morning before our friends Al and Liz arrived for the day. It was a beautiful March morning, sunny with a keen breeze at times but warm where it was sheltered. The weather remained good for most of the daylight hours but turned increasingly cloudy as the afternoon wore on. The forecast rain arrived on cue later in the evening.

We had a good day with Al and Liz, coffee and biscuits to start, nachos followed by bread and cheese for lunch, date and walnut cake when we arrived back from the garden centre ending with beef and ale pie, allotment purple sprouting and cabbage all rounded off with Mary Berry's bread and butter pudding. Going to the gym tomorrow.

Set up and installed Talk Talk TV box with Al. Talk Talk rang and offered the box and router free plus a 6 month reduction in contract fee if we had the TV box. Couldn't see a catch but expect it's because they want you to buy added services, or boosts as they call them. All set up easily and it seems a good service. I can't see us spending much on boosts but you never know.
