The floor was still being polished when we met up (on Wednesday this week because the floor was being polished Monday and Tuesday) It just looks great. Unfortunately at about 4.30 the signage contractor came along unannounced - as usual.

They are the client's contractor and don't seem to be team players. No matter how often we ring or email we get no details of who's coming when or what they are going to be doing so we get no opportunity to prepare the site for them. We had a rubbish collection the next day so all the rubbish was piled inside the shopfront by the door. Just where they needed to work.

Instead of moving stuff carefully - or even better giving us notice of what they were going to do so that the areas they needed were clear, the fitter dragged stuff, pushed stuff with the tower, threw stuff around, spilt stuff out of rubble sacks and knocked a can of paint over. Scratches and marks all over the floor where he was working. Which he then tried to tell us was done not by him but by the electrician, who was working on the opposite side of the shop in the electrical cupboard

As someone said to me once, when you're running a site, your most important job is to ensure that the guys working on site now aren't ruining what someone painstakingly did before them
