'The Boy & His New Clarinet'

Last week Dylan was accepted into the school music program as a clarinet player which he was very excited about as it was his first choice of instrument to play.

We surprised him last night and bought him a new clarinet and left the box on his bed for him to discover after getting home from playing tennis at the Research Tennis Club with his mates Soren & Sasha.

To say he's been a bit excited is an understatement, he's hardly put it down at all today and has already taught himself to play a few simple songs. We're very impressed by his enthusiasm and he's sounding quite good. His recorder playing seems to have given him a great head start even though the fingering of notes is different.

He is starting lessons at school Monday week, and by mid year we'll (hopefully) be seeing him play in his first part in the school concert band as a clarinet player.

Also today was our Hawks first game of the year down in Tasmania. We've had a great 48 point win which puts us up into third position on the ladder. GO HAWKERS!!!
