Melting in the morning sun...

There was a hard frost this morning, which soon melted as soon as the sun appeared. In the middle of the day Alex and I went to Gamlingay Wood, our initial visit as part of a detailed survey to be undertaken this spring. I was hoping to photograph oxlips, which are confined to woodlands on boulder clay in East Anglia, but most weren't quite flowering, and the two plants I did photograph proved to be the hybrid between primrose and oxlip, Primula x digenea. Perhaps next time...
