Gardening for Wildlife

A miserable day meant it was no hardship to wait in for the plants we bought yesterday to be delivered. This House Sparrow lost no time in giving the seal of approval to this tree - it's still in the container.
We asked for our garden to be designed with wildlife in mind. I'd expected that to be a long term strategy, but we had 3 siskins arrive on the feeders today - by no means regular visitors, and having not had my trail cam out for ages, I decided to put it out last night and lo and behold, a hedgehog!
I'll draw a veil over the incident with the mouse and the pond.
