Magnolia

Years ago there was a trend in the UK to decorate houses in magnolia colours and as with any trend it soon died out and 'magnolia' became synonymous with dull, old fashioned and boring. Maybe this is true of your lounge but in nature this could't be further from the truth. In Japan, the magnolia is used for both medicinal and ornamental purposes and the streets are lined with trees. The flower is called Hanakotoba which means that the flower is sublime, natural and shows love for nature.

Like the magnolia tree,
She bends with the wind,
Trials and tribulation may weather her,
Yet, after the storm her beauty blooms,
See her standing there, like steel,
With her roots forever buried,
Deep in her Southern soil.
