Light through a table top

Got up fairly early this morning to go to my friend's dad's funeral. The man had lived a full life. Died fairly suddenly at age 80. The preacher was a long time friend and co-worker on the volunteer fire department. There was some sadness but mainly memories and quite a few laughs.

The funeral was in the real Texas. One of the mourners was wearing bibbed overalls. Many folks wore cowboy hats - and the hats looked liked they belonged on the men. Plenty of big pickups in the procession to the graveside service.

Nearly everyone driving the other way stopped in honor of the funeral procession. It is the ultimate in small town America.

Got home and walked around downtown. At the JFK Memorial, I saw some bright orange tables and chairs. The sun poured through the holes in one of the table tops.
