Away with the old and welcome the new

As the lotus flower dies, a large seedpod takes its place. Growing from the center of the flower petals, the seedpod becomes a large round microphone on the end of the stem. When its fully grown, the seeds can be eaten, or sometimes the pod is collected and dried to be used as a decoration.
