A Life of Laughter

Climbing the Sidlaws

I love going adventuring and one of my favourite things to do with Rory is to go walking. We've not been for a walk for quite a while, so today, we climbed the Sidlaw Hills.

After a trip into town, we headed to the hills (with a quick stop to Tesco to get lunch supplies). After a quick picnic and some laughter at a dog trying to make a break from a dog walking company, we headed up for our walk. You got some awesome views from the top (we climbed to the summit of 3 hills) and Rory found some mountain bike trails that he fancies trying out.

We saw a few other walkers, one old man in particular looked completely lost and kept changing direction as he couldn't decide which hill he was meant to be climbing. After the second summit, we stopped for a cake and water break before continuing up the biggest hill, which was exceptionally windy and freezing cold when at the top.

Rory's phone died half way up the final hill, and as the instructions for the walk were saved on his phone, we had to wing it on the way back down ( I let Rory lead). We managed to get back to the car park no bother, whilst passing many abandoned foldable seats and finding more mountain bike trails as we descended.

We headed back to the flat (via Tesco for a well needed toilet stop) for lovely enchiladas, Robot and Frank, and hot chocolate and cookies in bed!

Pedometre count: 22,093 steps (and not my personal record)
