Clearing the land

Over the last year or two we've noticed that more and more land around the village is being brought back into cultivation, presumably because of the economic climate. This area was mainly scrub, with Spanish oak growing through the wall which edged the lane. The oak's been cut and stacked for firewood, with the roots grubbed out and left waiting for the rain to clean them, and the undergrowth's been burned off. Now the low wall is being demolished so that maximum use can be made of the area. I wonder what they'll plant, my guess is olives.

There's another photo on my Catalan Village journal.
