We had a visit from the Fire Brigade safety officers’ today- following the fire our 90-year-old neighbour had- and I was all set to do a photo of these young men for Hobbs monomonday action as they demonstrated some safety procedures.

But they said “no chance…against all their regulations to appear in social media” so I have ended up with a simple action photo of tea being poured.

Their visit though was very helpful. They installed two fire alarms ( free) and told us that fire extinguishers were not recommended because of the hassle of getting them to work and the best advice was to close all doors and call the Fire Brigade.

Smoke not fire is the killer. And a closed door will hold back the fire for half an hour until the Fire Brigade arrives.
