Discovery World Museum

Discovery World is built along the shores of Lake Michigan & is 120,000 square feet of interactive science areas, technology, freshwater exhibits, learning labs, theaters, TV & audio studios & both fresh & saltwater aquariums. It's generally packed with children, but the facilities can also be rented out for weddings, conferences, business meetings, etc. It's also home to the Denis Sullivan (which I've blipped in the past), a 137 foot replica of a 19th century Great Lakes Schooner & a floating classroom for water education and conservation programs. We stopped here to get some pictures on our way out to lunch. Tom's 3rd. sister, who also lives out of town, came down yesterday, so all 3 of them are here now, so Tom & I, his brother, & his 3 sisters all met for lunch--I'm so glad I'd gotten off of work today! We had a great time & our waitress was wonderful--very friendly & attentive, & didn't mind that we stayed for quite awhile after we'd finished eating. We reached a whole 45 degrees today, although it doesn't feel like 45 as it's so windy. We're predicted to get rain &/or snow showers for the next couple of days....Their predicted high of 60 never materialized! Maybe NEXT week! :)
