Electric blue

I've lusted after Nicola's bright blue orchid since she was given one for her birthday in February. On Mother's Day she and Ewan and the grandchildren gave me my own one! Here it is in all its glory! Amazing how much dye a plant can absorb and the effect that has on the flowers. Mind you we saw some pretty amazing orchids in Singapore's botanic gardens a few years ago, with fabulous colours without the aid of artificial enhancement.
