Crummock Water, Lake District

Back Blip.

Day 2 at LPH, and one of two days this week in which the group would set out without our workshop leader, John. Last night we each had photo critique on 10 of our shots from yesterday and learned loads about looking out for distractions in our compositions affectionately known as "gardening". I am a garden designer and landscaper who thought she could escape from gardening this week!

The weather started off a little damp so we spent some time in Lanthwaite Woods first under the cover of the trees, doing some close ups and macro, and as we reached Crummock Water, our lunch stop, the rain had stopped and this beautiful ethereal mist hung around the peaks, with beautiful reflections in the water. This rock was perfect for foreground interest, although there was a bit of a queue, as Martin got rather attached to it, and spent about an our photographing it!

I de-saturated most of the greens in this shot, but didn't go the full way to black and white.
