Naysmyth Bridge - Almondell Country Park

A first for me today , a walk with a former colleague in Almondell and Calderwood Country Park. This fine sandstone bridge with fine parapets and seats on it was built in the 1800s was designed by the Scottish artist Alexander Naysmyth. It is a central feature of the country park which also boasts some outstanding wood land and interesting features of the River Almond's industrial past.
A place to revisit I think in summer or autumn on a brighter day than it was today
