Praha Day 3

What a difference a day makes. Instead of enjoying a meal and folk dancing last night, I was smitten with an acute attack of Czech lurgy in the form of the runs, a fainting fit and a raging temperature which apparently made me delirious.
However, today, with a liberal intake of imodium, his Lordship and I managed to take the metro into the Old Town Square and do our own wandering around without following a purple umberella.
We retraced yesterday's steps over the Charles Bridge which crosses the River Vltava and up to the Matthew gate and St Vitus Cathedral, a hugely impressive dark edifice. We heard the changing of the guard at the gate , but couldn't see anything because of all the tourists. It would help to be 6'5" tall!
His Lordship wanted to see Wenceslas Square where the Velvet Revolution of 1989 against thecommunist regime took place. It is a very large Square with a broad boulevard running from it up to a very big imposing museum.
It was starting to rain again and so we had an inoccuous bowl of soup before heading homewards.

Today's blip is the view from the Charles Bridge looking up to The church of St Vitus and the huge castle area, with the river Vltava in the foreground
