Only going for a week...

Grasp the camel (A) firmly between thumb and forefinger
Moisten the tip and twirl into a point
Gently poke tip through eye of needle (B)
Swear under breath and repeat steps 1-3
Attempt to grab protruding point upon emergence from other side only to accidentally push it back through.
Swear considerably louder and repeat steps 1-5
Temporarily give up and try to relax with a coffee (C)
Remove two pairs of shoes, three t-shirts, one pair of shorts and one beanie from the camel (A) and repeat steps 1-7
Weigh successfully-threaded needle (B) only to find that it exceeds the weight allowance by three kilogrammes.
Reduce overall contents by 5% and repeat.

...although in actuality within twenty minutes it was all packed and weighs less than 15kg (excluding book, third pair of shorts and any sharp items, liquids or pasta). According to the Ikea scales which probably aren't that accurate but which are slightly more accurate than the little fish-scales on which we will have to rely for the return journey. Much easier than going camping and having to fit the same amount of stuff plus tent including heavy pegs, meths (I know) and walking boots.
