Twitchers And Birders

With over 320 different species of birds, the rainforest is heaven for bird watchers and the lodge is FULL of them. With their impressive camera equipment, oversized lenses and camouflage gear I was almost embarrassed to be seen with my little point and press!

Following last night's storm damage we were moved to a new villa - turns out the one we were in was named the 'Royal Villa' after William and Kate stayed in it (it was suitably amazing!) and whilst the alternative villa was not in the same league it had a more open view which made bird spotting so much easier. In the space of half an hour we saw hornbills, a king fisher, Borneo fork tails, a spider hunter, sun birds and about 15 of these lovely bee eaters. Not so ashamed of my little point and press after all! (I back blipped yesterday)

Those little nimble musicians of the air, that warble forth their curious ditties, with which nature hath furnished them to the shame of art.
