Too early...and almost too late

A wee wander to the Botanics to check in on the progress of my favourite cherry and magnolia trees - and surprised to find both beyond full bloom and almost heading into fade. Definitely earlier this year - and I know because I checked back on blip! The cherry is about two weeks ahead of last year, and the magnolia at least three.

So glad I went - I would have been so sad to miss, as I do adore them - especially this incredible magnolia. This was the only bloom remaining on the lower branches. What a colour on those waxy petals - amazing.
