Now, as I see it......

Boat Race

We spent a very nice day with our friends S & B who live in Sheen, South London. After an excellent lunch we had a wander down to Mortlake to see the end of the Boat Race. We were in time to see end of the 'seconds' race (no, I didn't know there was one either - apparently it's all the people who just didn't make it into the main team) which was won decisively by Oxford, and then waited for the main event. Of course, if you watch it on TV you know what is happening but we had no idea of the collision in the early stages; by the time they got to us Oxford were clear leaders, and I understand won by the biggest margin since 1973. These were some of the media/safety boats following the race and which created a really big wash; I saw one lady who must have thought she was in a safe place but whose jeans were soaking wet up to the knees!
