Branch in leaves near Crummock Water

I came across this branch lying in some leaves. I liked the texture but its location was a bit boring. It looked better photographed diagonally than horizontally but still lacked contrast with the surrounding leaves. I'm a Photoshop newbie so I thought I'd see what I could do. My son said to make the leaves look as if they were moving so I experimented with a bit of motion blur and added a bit of lens blur, and finally popped on a B&W layer with about 50% opacity to tease down the colour. It almost looks as if it is floating on water. I think it looks better printed out but thought I'd upload it anyway!
