Heart and soul

I love you with my heart and soul,
no less;
no second rate half assed love affair
but full blown trumpet affirmation of joy
that proclaims a simple truth:
I love you;
I need you;
I want you.
You, my sweet, my very nectar,
grasp my heart
in the hollow of your fair palm
and I am but yours,
dear thing,
but yours,
to have and to hold.
And I do hold you,
when we lie side by side to be sure,
but when I am far away I hold you just as true.
