Sunbathing

The tadpoles like this piece of slate. It soaks up the morning sun and gets really warm, and the tadpoles lie on it, enjoying the warmth.

As you can see, they are developing nicely. I thought perhaps we didn't have as many as there were at first, but looking around the edge of the pond, every part is filled with tadpoles, not to mention the ones swimming in the weeds. We should have a good crop of frogs this year.

Busy day, today. Went to the hospital to have the heart monitor removed, which took about a minute, and then had to wait for an hour for the Mother-in-law to have her eyes checked and her latest injection. On getting home, I made an appointment to get to the bank to discuss accounts. Then in the afternoon, I spent a long time on the phone sorting out the insurance for the new car - sadly, the no-claims bonus which I had on the policy which I cancelled in 2010 (15 years!) expired after two years, so I'm having to build it up again, making the policy rather expensive.

At least it's done now and everything is in place to pick the new car up next Thursday and then things can begin getting back to normal.

Weatherwise, it was a very pleasant, springlike day. The vegetation in the pond has really grown over the last three or four days. The oxygenators on the bottom are spreading and the new lily has developed a small leaf, and should be growing leaves that will reach the surface over the next few weeks.
