On the Road to Kelso

On the road to Kelso for lunch with friends lost to us for 50 years but recently rediscovered. And what a wonderful day it was remembering things from our days as newly married couples in a Lanarkhire unrecognisable nowadays from the basic county in those days, where we felt strangers in an alien land, having grown up in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

It was a big sky day as we headed over Soutra to the Borders countryside where the fields of brick red soil were ready for planting.
