Wooly Bear

So, I’m riding my bike along the Fern Ridge path with wooly bear caterpillars crossing in front of me every 10 feet or so.

Grabbing macro-photos, sort of nose to nose with one of these critters as it approaches the edge of the bike path, proved to be a bit of a comical chase scene.

Suddenly the wooly bear reared up on it hind six legs, thrusting its front six legs out and throwing its head back.

It seems he'd had enough of my shenanigans.

I braced myself for a tiny roar… and then snapped my blip for the day.
