Farewell to Amsterdam

This is Amsterdam's Centraal Station, from which we took the Thalys high-speed train back to Paris just before noon. The architecture is distinctive, and suggestive of many other buildings in Amsterdam (I have to say I find it more appealing than the severity of much in Vienna, our recent previous major city). This MUST be viewed large!

The train ride back was again very fast and smooth (with a quieter car this time). European trains are wonderful. We found Paris warmer than Amsterdam--ca. 20° C (68° F)--wonderful as our visit was, it's good to be back in our apartment here, which has become very much our second home.
